The first cooktop worked very well until a pan slipped and made a small crack. Replaced it a month ago with the same exact model and one of the burners does NOT turn off. It™€™s a whole project to get a cooktop purchased and installed so I™€™m not happy it came out of the box needing a repair. Disappointed.

Temperature control broken

Just moved into a new home and started using the stove. Two burners are either on 100% or off. The feature that allows temperature control is broken which can be detrimental to pans. This stove is under 10 years old so the stove should still be working fine. Will make sure to stray away from any GE products.

Better Than Expected!

After reading many reviews, I was a little hesitant to purchase this stovetop, but I have had it for over a month now, and I like it very much. It heats up quickly, and can get very hot. I did expect it to be a little hard to keek clean, but it hasn™€™t been a problem. It is much cleaner and nicer than the coul one I had before.

I like the two large cooking elements set at a diagonal from each other. The quick boil feature is great to boil water to cook pasta. The cooktop cleans easily, even when things are spilled. If only the cooktop could make me a better cook!

Functions as anticipated

This cooktop replaced a previous GE cooktop. Most of the time the cooktop functions as anticipated. Occasionally the large front burner gets a lot hotter even when I have not adjusted the temperature and this is not the normal on and off of the burners. This happened with my previous burner but only when it got closer to the 9-10 year mark. I only replaced the last cooktop because a pot slipped from my hands and cracked the previous cooktop. As initially stated. The majority of the times the cooktop functions as designed. I™€™m hoping the overheating doesn™€™t get worse.

GE glass cook top is absolutely nightmare

I absolutely hate this cook top. I am afraid of cooking now. The quality of the glass is so poor that it leaves white stain and scratches even I carefully cooked an egg without any spills. It is my mistake to purchase it after months of research so I suck it up. My previous GE cooktop lasted me 20 years after I purchased the house. It is at least 50 years old. That is the reason I chose GE. Lowes refused to do anything for me. Lowes even took this product down from its website after I purchased it. After I waited at least 30 minutes-1 hour on the phone, GE offered $300 more than the price I paid for exchanging; almost same as the original price to fix it. Outrageously insane. I will not buy any GE appliances and recommend nobody to do so. This glass cooktop gives me nightmare and stressed me out. Stay away from it.

Scratches easily

We moved into a new build recently. Our kitchen has GE appliances. I love them all except for this cooktop. The cooktop functions well and is easy to use. But in less than a month it has many scratches. I got rid of three pans and hope my Caphalon pots and pans won™€™t scratch. I use Weimar cooktop cleaner regularly. I did not have this problem with my much older cooktop by another brand. I recently reached out to GE to see if there is a remedy, and am waiting to hear.

This cooktop had a stanted burner from the very beginning so it did not heat evenly. After calling the store where we purchased it, they came, removed it and said it could be fixed in two days. Today is the 7th day without a cooktop

Burner was slanted

My cook top was installed 2 weeks ago and I noticed right away that something looked weird about the right burner. When it became red and hot you could see that it was sitting in there at an angle. It was very slanted and caused uneven heating of the pan. I called the company that installed it and they came out a week later and took it back to the store to fix it.

My wife and I are upgrading our 1991 built home that still has all of its original 1991 era GE appliances (still in good working order after 33 years!) with more modern GE appliances. We are a GE loyal family, and absolutely love our new cooktop that replaced our old style coil element cooktop. It heats evenly, more quickly and best of all the cleanup is super easy and looks great!

GE Glass Cooktop

My opinion is that the easily to chip and some of the spots from cooking are there to stay. I use the stainless steel pots as recommended but spots still remain on the glass top. I even purchased the correct cleaning product that was recommended but spots are still there. Otherwise, it cooks very good

Overall a good cooktop. We find it hard to clean. The recommended cleaner by GE works ok but leaves a residue.
