If you want to become best friends with your repair guy, this is the fridge for you. So far, I've spent over $1,000 to repair a 3 year fridge and it still doesn't work right. Whirlpool's response: It's 3 years old, what did you expect? Would you like to buy our extended warranty? This company does not stand behind their product.

Fridge great, ice maker not working

Had this installed on November 20th. on November 22 still not making ice, had the company that installed it come and check. they had me place a service call. serviceman arrived on November 29. left and said he had to order parts. December 3rd still waiting on parts and repair.

Bad Experience

This fridge is awesome when it worked. We bought a house with this new fridge in it. After about two months it had to be rebooted by a technician. Three weeks later the water stopped and I rebooted it. The following week which was Thanksgiving, the whole fridge died. The technician did not know how to repair based on the complex technology. He replaced one board and then said it was the main control board or the solenoid with capillary tubes coming out of it. Needless to say I lost confidence and purchased another brand since I needed a fridge. For sure money I did not want to spend right before Christmas.

KA Fans for Life!

We bought this refrigerator for several reasons. 1. We love KA appliances and counting 2 small countertop appliances, we have made 6 KA purchases in the span of less than 3 years. 2. We love the design which makes it easy for us to access the produce & refrigerated items. The freezer is easy to use. 3. The ice maker takes up very little usable space in the refrigerated space. Finally, despite negative comments from reviews & friends, we love the look of a coordinated kitchen.

I planned on buying this fridge for a year now. I bought the dishwasher almost 2 years and the double oven about 6-8 months ago. The fridge was the last thing on my list to complete my dream kitchen. The best Refrigerator EVER!

We've just had our refrigerator a little over a month and I am so in love with it! When I open the doors of my refrigerator I can see everything in there without moving anything. There's a sliding compartment that allows me to put top bottles of wine or juice easily. The lettuce and veggie compartments are awesome and they have filters so that my vegetables last longer. The freezer compartment below has three separate areas for frozen foods which is so much more space than I've ever had in a freezer. It's got a special compartment for pizzas and anything else you need to freeze. I love my KitchenAid refrigerator.

Very commercial looking... unique from anything the competition has. Works well. Love the interior lighting and the self closing drawers. Love the ice maker in the door, freeing up the space in the open compartment - however, the storage is extremely limited now. The height of the water dispensing area at 8.38" is not quite tall enough to clear several containers we use including the water tank for a Keurig. The ice/ water dispenser works well - however, the large open area of the ice bin appears to invite the warmer temps within the refrigerator allowing the upper ice cubes to partially melt together. The RH door will hold plenty - however, the bin spacing is only adjustable in 3.5" increments. So when you need only an extra 1.0" to fit those salad dressing bottles or milk container, you will sacrifice a full bin to get it or go up to the next level and have a useless bin height so small nothing fits. The stainless is beautiful - however, my wife touched the door panel with wet fingers within the first 10 minutes of owning this and now we can not get the prints off.

Our fridge was nicknamed "The TARDIS"

I bought this fridge for our new home almost a year ago and I am still absolutely thrilled with it! It feels luxuriously spacious on the inside but fits our kitchen very nicely. The interior was so impressively spacious that my friend's 12 year old daughter nicknamed our refrigerator "The TARDIS" (because it seems bigger on the inside than the outside would lead you to believe for those who aren't Dr. Who fans) I comfortably dry brined my turkey with AMPLE room leftover for everything I needed for my excess of sides for my recent thanksgiving where we hosted 6 adults and loads of kids. But the thing I love most of all about this refrigerator is that it SO EASY TO CLEAN! Almost every piece of it comes completely off or out and is easy to remove/replace. Even the basins for the middle drawers! The only complaint I have is that the measuring feature on the water dispenser is impossible to get and keep accurate. However, it is convenient for when I just want roughly 2 cups, etc, or want to make sure that a cup filled with ice isn't overfilled while I run around the kitchen trying to grab my breakfast, make my coffee, and fill my water cup for my drive to work! Overally, though, I absolutely love this fridge (and I never thought I'd say that about a refrigerator) and highly recommend it!

I was excited with my new refrigerator. The herb tray, extra 2 drawers plus the pull in and out storage in the freezer are all a plus. It is horrible when making ice. Very loud esp nighy. Use of cloth to clean the fridge is great in keeping the look of your fridge immaculate. Removes the smudges quickly.

We are now on our third fridge over the past month. First one was leaking internally in the box. Week later the 2nd one arrives. The door was ofc by over 3 inches and the delivery guys were just shrugged their shoulders and left. A week later a tech comes out to check the installation. His diagnosis was that the door was missing several pieces. Now a new one is one order. They can not give us a delivery date at this point due to the holidays and the 48 hr. time period for them to respond. I'm over it. Hope the 3 other Kitchen Aid units we have coming are better quality.

25 years ago we purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator that was so nice. After 15 years we were swayed to buy a different manufacturer's product. We ended up putting the KitchenAid in a second home (which we sold) and it was still running strong. As nice as the new one looked on the outside, it did not stand up to the quality of the KitchenAid. So we are back, with our new and beautiful 5 door stainless steel with Platinum interior refrigerator, and couldn't love it more! Organization, beauty and quality. I've had the refrigerator for about 2 years and it started leaking and making strange noises. It's no longer cooling, currently it only cools down to 48 degress. The freazer and ice maker leaks water everywhere. I'm terrably disappointed. After paying so much money for the refridgurator I expected better quality.

We have only had the fridge for one week. I love the look of it. My husband says it looks like a transformer! I am still working on how to configure the shelving for maximum space. Love having separate drawers for veggies and deli stuff. Not sure about the freezer drawer. Had to call and have tech come out as it was not rolling smoothly. Hopefully when he returns to replace the railing, it will be better!

Where can I start? When we first purchased the fridge it worked great for about 18 months. Glad we had a warranty or we would've trashed this busted fridge a year ago. First, the ice maker stopped working and in the time it took for the repairman to come out, the motor stopped working. I unplugged it and plugged it back in which seemed to have fixed it for a period of time until the motor could be replaced by the technician. The replaced motor seemed to have fixed the refrigeration problem but it still didn't make ice. We called the repairmen out again, this time it was determined the freezer door had a gap in the weatherstripping which was causing the fridge to over-work and possibly keep the ice maker from working. A new door later, we still did not have a functioning ice maker and now the water dispenser was not functioning, it was not recognizing that we had changed the water filter. We called again to have the ice maker looked at and this new issue resolved. It was determined that the assembly for the water filter was the culprit so part was ordered and a different technician came to install it. This technician realized that it wasn't the filter assembly, it was that the fridge thought the water filter hadn't been replaced in over 200 days. This technician also told us the ice maker itself was broken so he ordered that part and returned an hour or two later to install it. Our extended warranty expired just before the final repair but the long-standing issue of the broken ice maker was originally called in while the warranty was valid so they covered the repair. Two months later now the freezer is making a loud noise, the lights in the fridge and the freezer don't work, the ice dispenser and water dispenser will only dispense for about 3 seconds per depressing of the lever and our warranty has completely expired. I'm exhausted with this thing. It is the best looking fridge I've ever seen, really love the grey interior and the 5 drawers but it's just not worth the trouble. We're probably going to be moving on as soon as the freezer finally gives out in a few weeks.

It's beautiful. But, please don't be tempted. We bought one in March. They had to replace the first one because so many things were wrong with it. The second one is worse. The freezer does not defrost. The frost just builds up. The shelf edge chrome-ish decorations fall off. The glue does not hold. It has happened multiple times. The water dispenser splashes all over the place, as did the first one. The water filter and the veggie crisper filters simply fall down. The door mullion strip stays open on the left door, so it doesn't close (as did the first one). It's already been replaced twice. Oh, and the dealer no longer calls back. If KitchenAid cared a fig, they'd get in touch, take it back and refund my money.

We wanted a substantial upgrade in this refrigerator is it! Everything is well thought out and well-made and functions perfectly. The action of the drawers is beautifully smooth, the filtering add-ons keeps everything fresh. We love how the French doors that swing fully open give such easy and complete access. If it's not clear already it is a terrific refrigerator.

The individually temperature controlled front entry doors and drawers are what sold us on this model. We completed a new kitchen with a KitchenAid Range hood, Oven, and Dishwasher. The kitchen not only looks great each piece has quality and features no found at this price range.

Amazing Fridge

We bought this one month ago and I still am surprised by this fridge. It's beautiful, the inside lighting is like "Ahhhh" every time we open the doors. It is very roomy - many adjustable shelves/ the inside drawers are crystal clear so you can see what's inside. The 2 outside drawers are very deep and can accommodate a lot! The produce drawer is specially made to help your food last longer and we have already noticed a difference in our vegetables. The freezer is awesome. - 2 slide out shelves and a very roomy base. The boys love the special place for pizza!! I would recommend this to anyone.

Love this fridge

Splurged on this fridge and super happy that I did. I love the layout and especially love the exterior drawers for stuff we access most often. Also love that I can keep all my ketchup-relish-mustard in one door bin and just lift the whole thing out and bring it to the table for burgers or whatever. There isn't a ton of room for tall stuff, so keep that in mind if that's important for you. Also, the ice cubes are a bit of a weird, small shape. Not super important but a bit weird. Love all the drawers and compartments in the freezer, especially the pizza slot!

Really liking my new Refrigerator. A lot of space up top and the drawer storage is perfect for my needs. In the freezer having the two upper tray drawers is the best thing ever! Future, I do wish the ice delivery would be in the freezer minus the water and ice on the door. One big beautiful shiny refrigerator without would be amazing!

I bought this just over a year ago and the the refrigerator has to be replaced due to a bad pin connection on the fan. Love the look and space of the refrigerant. Sound from water filling is louder than expected.
