love it but issue w blackstreaks on whites

Love my washer and dryer and DT Mccalls is a great retailer. My only proble was teh dryer was leaving black marks on my white clothes. DT Mcalls came out and said the black liner and filter cover paint was coming off in the heat and causing the problem and they have ordered a white one from Speed Queen to replace it. I wonder why you do not use white ones from the beginning and save the service calls.

Excellent Dryer!

I really wanted something that would last me years, so I really did my homework on washers and dryers. I'd heard about the Speed Queen brand before so I specifically started there. I am SO happy with the dryer, my last one would take at least 2 hours to dry my clothes. What I most love about this one is the lint trap, it's not a "black hole" where the lint falls and you never see it again. I love that it's easy to clean out and things don't fall to the unknown. I also love that I can choose the heat settings for more delicate items I might not want to dry with higher heat. The higher price is so worth it for this machine!

Poor washing results and burnt clothes

I have owned my product less than a month and have not been able to find the right combinations of soap and process to get good results out of the washing machine even following the instructions in the user manual does not produce good results and I've had to have a service call on the drying machine as the delicate cycle burns clothes.

Dryer is still new to me

Lots of features on this dryer- and I'm still getting familiar with it! I have the cold water supply hose hooked up but have yet to use the sanitize/steam feature! I'm still figuring out how to dry clothes to dry and not damp. But yeah this is a nice dryer, glad about this purchase. My last dryer was 29 yrs old, I had it for 23 yrs, so quite the change with all the bells & whistles!

Speed Queen pair replaced my 1978 Maytag pair

These new laundry machines have a hard act to follow. I am getting used to all the new tech and the machines have a much better capacity and can get my chores done quickly. I dont expect they will last as long as the Maytags, but they seem efficient and VERY quiet. Since I am 87, I hope they outlast me.

DR7 works great but has a rattling problem

The new DR7 dryer functions very well but has a rattling problem. So far the retailer that sold us the DR7 cannot identify why it rattles, or fix it. So far we are very disappointed. This new DR7 should not have been sold at a retailer in this condition. We have a TR7 washer and it is absolutely wonderful. We will currently give the recommendation below of No until it is fixed.

I purchased the Speed Queen - DR7004WE believing I would be able to have more adjustable choices and the steam function seemed like a great idea. Little did I know that it needed to have a hose connected to a cold water line. I thought that the steam function was dealt with the dampness of the clothes in the dryer. When the appliance dealer hooked up the machine with their hose they didn't tighten it quite enough and there may have been a problem with the hose but it leaked. I only do laundry once a week in a room that my husband mainly uses. I did laundry twice in three weeks before I saw the black and pink mold on the wall behind the dryer. What a mess and it took three weeks to get a contractor in to clean it up and dry it out and repair it. The applicant dealer wouldn't be helpful, their insurance has been any better and I'm still waiting on this claim. We paid out of pocket so our insurance wouldn't ding us even though it wasn't our fault in any way. I'm disappointed in the whole machine. It isn't as easy or variable as I thought it was and I would have been a whole lot better off with the less expensive one. The appliance store was less than helpful through this whole thing.

The worst dryer and response to problems ever

My wife & I had heard of speed queen being the best in the business since becoming a homeowner years ago. Our first home came with a set of Maytags. They were fine, worked as needed. We recently purchased a new home and went out and got Speed Queens from our local appliance store. We purchased the Speed Queen dryer and washer because we were told they were the best and most reliable on the market. The washer needed service after less than a month and the cold water valve had to be replaced. The dryer quit working after six weeks. The control panel needed to be replaced. I wish I could have retuned them. We paid twice as much for these compared to other brands expecting not to have isssue. We were very disappointed.

Purchased with the expectation the matching set would last 20+ years. Works very well though I admittedly have not tried the steam functions yet. My biggest gripe is the time left indicator gets to 5 minutes left then seems to stay there for up to 30 minutes with the clothes still noticeable wet at the 5 minute mark. All is well when it says it is done but clearly the counter and moisture sensor are not linked so it's at best an educated guess for how long the load will take to dry. Multiple settings and options don't seem to make a notable difference. Would absolutely buy again not that I plan to as I hope this is the last laundry set I ever have to buy.

Good after initial failure

We were hesitant to get this because of the electronic screen but were assured it was THE best. After 4 uses, the motherboard had a fatal failure. We were without a dryer for 2 weeks. So far it is doing a good job. Dries the clothes much faster than our previous dryer. I like the pet hair mode too. Lint catcher could be better but is ok. I don't like that they say it has to be professionally vacuumed out every 2 years. An added expense to an expensive dryer. Note we don't have the steam feature hooked up. The 7 year warranty is a plus. We wish we would have gone 1 step down. I think less is more as far as the controls go.

An American made tough piece of engineering. Get your speed queen before the Department of Energy outlaws these machines through the overzealous energy standards. They clean well and dry well. Reliable, easy, straight forward. You don't need your Speed Queen connected to WiFi, it has all that you need with Pets, kids, or whatever else. Black looks great too. Just get the black.
