Haven't had it long enough to say most durable but hopefully last longer than the maytag I had for 15yrs works well so far but don't like the touch start button, prefer pull out knob. Doesn't spin fast enough, have to respin most of every load. As a former maytag employee I see no reason why these two things can't be improved. My main reason for purchasing this is because of the metal tub and inner parts. Feel their a little pricey

Asked the man at appliance mart where the best most durable washers are and he showed me the speed queens, no fancy nonsense its a washer and it does its job excellently, if you have a mom or family member that would prefer a machine that is simple and easy to use this is the one, super easy to hook up, it is one heavy machine though so you better have a buddy to help or walk it in. I will never have anything but a speedqueen for as long as they are around.

Belt failed after 2 years, a month to replace

I expected a lot better from speed queen, if I'm being honest. A failure is fine if remedied quickly. A failure that takes a whole month to resolve because of poorly handled warranty processes and poor communication with repair companies is the real miss here. Horrible experience.

Nice clean design with minimal digital gadgetry

Our recently purchased Speed Queen TR5 replaced a beloved, twenty-five year old motor-driven Sears Kenmore washer-a workhorse-with a 4.6 cu ft basin. I live in a remote, rural location and was limited by the actual space available for the machine. I chose the Speed Queen for its nice, clean and simple design. I like that it doesn't have a lot of digital control boards to go bad later. At 25-inches wide, it fit width-wise to into a small space, due in part to its 3.2 cu-ft wash basin. I love the machine, with the exception of the smaller washtub basin, but that is why it fit into the space. The small tub is limiting when it comes to washing CalKing spreads, flannel sheets and flannel duvet covers. It is too small to do a set of CalKing flannel sheets at the same time, so now I go to the local laundromat for the bigger items. The was basin is solid and not all bouncy like the new motor driven models. Admittedly, I might still be babying the Speed Queen more than necessary, as it also cost $2200, installed, including the removal of the old machine. Other than that, which I expected and knew beforehand, it does a nice, quiet job of washing. The Speed Queen instruction manual actually provides best practices on how to do a load of wash with best results. So far so good. All in all, the TR5 a nice, simple design with minimal digital gadgetry that does a quiet, effective job of washing.

Ditched a fancy touchscreen Samsung front loader for the OG top loader SQ. The Samsung front seal ripped before year 3, and the bearings were destroyed right at the 5 year mark. Connection issues with the dryer, power supply errors, wifi issues, software updates, just a complete joke. The SQ is incredible. We use half the detergent and the clothes come out much cleaner because extra water works apparently. Also, our wash cycle times have gone from over an hour while the Samsung slaps the clothes in a puddle of water and takes breaks to rest the clothes mid cycle to 35 minutes with the SQ having the clothes submerged in soapy water. Half the soap, half the time, much cleaner. I'll die before I buy anything else. Speed Queen for life.

The very first cycle it did not dispense the softener appropriately. I called the merchant and they said the normal cycle is worthless as it is just there to meet eco specs? Other cycles seem Fine. Additionally the capacity is about half of other brands.

I have owned this machine a month, but I really like the efficient performance of this washer. It washes the clothes really clean without the unnecessary fussy technology that has plagued recent clothes washers. I really enjoy the extra rinse to insure all the detergent is out, & you can a drop a sock or 2 in the wash cycle as it's running (as long as it's not spinning). Machine cleans clothes better than old machine. Laundry room is just off of kitchen, we do not hear it running, it is very quiet. Spin cycle does a fantastic job of removing excess water from clothes, so dryer time is shorter.
