Oven is unreliable

I have had this for 5 years and while I love the look and all the features, the oven cooks unevenly and is unreliable when setting the temperature. I baked bread for a few months and my bread started coming out different every time. I had to pay for costly repairs (a couple hundred dollars) and it still does not cook evenly. I wish I could switch it out, but of course, it is not under warranty.

Disappointed!

I purchased 4 Whirlpool appliances in 2020 and was pretty satisfied until a year and a half ago when one of the burner knobs broke. When I called Customer Service I was told this part was not under warranty so I had my repairman order a new one (which was backordered for quite a long time). It was finally replaced at a cost of over $50 for the part and of course labour and then 2 weeks ago, once again the knob is broken. Also, the finish on the front panel is starting to scratch revealing a silver base underneath the black. And not to forget the ridiculous self cleaning oven feature which doesn't do a thing! I can't believe after spending such a large amount on a Brand that I thought would be durable, clearly is not. I doubt I will buy Whirlpool again which is a shame. Appliances just don't last like they used to.

WORST MODEL EVER

I wish there it be a minus star to give to this review. I like it when first bought it, however after was installed I found out it was the worst appliance I ever had. 1- Burners are just high or low, and suddenly burner's flame flight. 2- When was going to clean the oven and waiting for the thing, guess what? you just have to do the work, it makes you feel like stupid standing 40 minutes to see it clean and nothing happened. 3- The electric panel turned off just like that and I havent been able to use the oven, there is no way you cant see what to do. I called Lowes and they said: Oh, so sorry , but you need it to call between 48 hours following the purchase. Duhh!!!! you dont clean an oven 48 hours after purchasing, or even used it. Anyway, I call the repair man and they charged $129.99 just to say it does nt work. We need to see if when we change the panel that solve. Really????WORST MODEL EVER . WEG745H0FS0. CANT BAKE FOR YEARS! JUST USING THE 4 STUPID BURNERS.

Multiple times I have come downstairs to the smell of gas™€¦ with kids and animals the knobs move to light position and don™€™t light but the clicking sounds doesn™€™t alert you until the house smells of gas. Can™€™t wait to get rid of this and get something that is safer for my family.

Painted Control Panel Chips and Peels Off

The control panel is not stainless steel, it's painted plastic. After about a year and a half, the paint starts peeling off. It looks terrible. It is out of warranty, naturally - but this is a good reason to stay away from this Gas Range. Not even sure how I would go about replacing this panel or how much it would cost, and then it would certainly happen again.

50/50 on this Range

Bought it and loved it right away. Within the first four weeks, the clock stopped working. A nuisance, but something I could live without. For some reason, over the last three months, I'm having trouble with the two front burners. They won't light consistently. Half the time, I have to use a handheld lighter, despite the igniters sparking fine. Also, the flames of the large burners are suddenly out of control. I've had it long enough to know when the gas distributor and cap aren't seated right and to clean the parts regularly. It's just that the two large burners are now unusable unless I'm cooking with 12" pans. Anything smaller, and the flames overtake my cookware at medium heat. I can't use any of my sauce pans on the front burners anymore. The burner knobs are a bit problematic because the inner metal collars will slip out, leaving the knobs loose. On the plus side, the oven has always worked great.

Do not buy - poor quality and features

3.5 years and the control board failed. Problem - 1. oven blasting orange flames from the bottom when heating and once it was shut off, it doesn™€™t light anymore. 2. stovetop intermittently works - meaning sometimes it stayed lit and sometimes it would not light at all. The appliance repair person misdiagnosed the problem and replaced the regulator. When the problem continued the appliance repair suggested I contact the propane gas provider and a plumber to fix the gas valve. Solution - Get a new range. The propane gas provider broke down the problem to the control board which does not make $ sense to repair. There is nothing wrong with the gas valve. The oven kept the temperature accurately even though I calibrated it twice. The stove top is controls have no finesse meaning each burner either runs too hot or too little

4 years in on this oven. The oven should be invisible, not visually but drama free. It is amazing how missing on just one or two expectations can change how I feel about an item because I will live with that appliance for years and every day I will cuss at it, it is a love/hate relationships. I like Whirlpool and generally I like my stove but the engineers failed on this model. First, not really an engineers fault, more of a concept and design. Auqa-lift is the worst thought process ever added to an over. Pour water in, turn on, wait till it boils for a while and clean the pan, the pan only, nothing else, just the pan. Not the walls, door, glass or racks. I never knew this was what I bought and regret it every day. This goes down to the marketing peeps. Their survey stated that people do not like oven cleaning due to smoke and heat. They cme up with something that uses lower heat, doesn't smoke and doesn't clean. The last thing, the alarm on the timer is worthless. It reminds me of the woman on the movie police academy. She was a very meek and timid cadet that no one can hear when she talks, spoke very low volume. The alarm is so quiet and has one single, quiet "um, excuse me" beep every 60 seconds. If you are not in the same area you will miss it. I want an alarm as expected. One that goes off continuously and loud until it get some human interaction. If you buy this over, get the self-cleaning and buy a secondary timer. Seems stupid you to buy an expensive oven and need to buy a stand alone timer at the dollar store for a $1 to fix a $2,000 oven shortcomings.

Used Six Times Before Control Board Failed

So disappointed with this stove. Bought a whole matching set of Whirlpool kitchen appliances maybe three years ago. Our current range was still perfectly fine, so the stove was kept in climate controlled and dry garage until needed. It was installed recently and worked fine. First disappointment was how loud the vent fan in it was. Very annoying and would run even after oven was shut down until oven was cool. Whatever. But then one day the whole control panel was dead! Used it maybe six times prior to its failure. Oven is currently inoperable and out of warranty even though it™€™s barely been used. Of course, Whirlpool doesn™€™t make service manuals available to public for it, and I don™€™t know how to determine if it™€™s the control panel or circuit board. They™€™re both around 300 each. Basically a brand new stove and I™€™m going to be out several hundred dollars minimum to get it working again. What a joke. Why does an oven need so many circuit boards in the first place?! Ovens used to be so simple and would last decades. I got a couple weeks out of this *very expensive* oven. Absolutely fuming right now.

Major problems

We bought this range from Lowes. It was good for a year and a half until we started having problems. Oven won't turn off and over heats to the point we have to shut the gas off and unplug. Called Lowes, they are no help, tried calling and chatting with Whirlpool, they either don't answer or know what to tell us. No service men will service a uinit that wasn't purchased by us so we are stuck with a 2,000 potential bomb in our kitchen

The cooktop is a very good heavy duty full top grating that™€™s easy to use and clean. The controls are not easy to clean and location is susceptible to grease and food splatter. Operating range not easy. Burners are good design controlling low and high heat. Oven failed and required parts replacement $300. No customer service! Warranty was useless. customer service undependable. Oven Range looks great and operates as designed when it™€™s functioning. Customer service is poor , no way to contact a person and your on your own if it range fails.

Its only 5 years old. A little over 2 years old the knobs on top started to break and they were not available to replace. At about 3.5 years old the 2 front and most used burners started to burn improperly. To correct this after a minute of heating up we have to lift and adjust the black burner cap or else it turns the bottom of pot or pan black with soot. This is everytime we use the front burners. Problem 3 at 4 years old the oven temp is 25-50 degrees lower than it says. Getting this Junk ( i originally used a different term but it got flagged) after our 8 year old front loading whirlpool washer failed us is a real disappointment. Will do more research to make sure we dont get a whirlpoop clone or rebranded whirlpoop Anything .

This is a beautiful range. However, we™€™ve had trouble with the stove top and the flame on the gas when you turn the burners, to low they™€™re not very low at all and we™€™ve attempted to adjust but no help. One of the knobs on the inside back broke so it™€™s no longer sits on the stove top nicely. It™€™s very wobbly and purchase new ones it™€™s pretty pricey.

Unable to regulate burners

We have had several repair people come to attempt to fix this stove. We had all the hinges on the door replaced. The burners were adjusted several times because we could not maintain low heat or simmer with these burners. The oven would never bake properly and would not maintain it™€™s temperature.. we tried everything to rectify the problem and then the warranty ran out.. we sold it and bought a different brand and switched to electric.. We have always owned whirlpool brand appliances for over 50 years. we have always been satisfied. However this stove was a lemon and we could never get it repaired to our satisfaction. They dragged us out until the warranty Rena out and wanted double the price to look at it.

I love the stove itself except that 2 of the knobs broke. I contacted customer service for warranty replacement and they refuse to stand behind their product. I have owned this stove for 4 years, there is no reason that they should be broken. To replace they are $50 a piece, I™€™m very unhappy with this and may not but whirlpool again because of it.

I moved into my new house a month ago and the oven would not ignite which caused gas leakage in my house and created a very unsafe condition. I called for service and was given an appointment over a week away which is surprising with a potential gas problem. I was notified that there was not a technician in the area, so my July 19th appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for the July 27th. The technician arrived yesterday and after inspecting the range found that the piece that connects to the ignitor was too short and did not reach the ignitor causing massive gas leakage into the house. The part was not made for this range and the technician did not have toe part locally, so I am still without use of the range oven and now I am supposed to get a part shipped to my house and then I have to call and make another appointment. Tell me how you rate this experience. I am now sorry I have other, whirlpool appliances in my house and I will pass my comments to the builder to start looking for a new supplier.

The cooktop has a couple of issues that have made it almost unusable. The valves don™€™t require any force to turn on. On our old range, you had to push down with a bit of force to turn them on. These don™€™t require much force at all and my dog has turned them on twice. Once caused a fire and the other filled the kitchen with gas. Whirlpool customer service said they don™€™t offer a safety kit or knob covers. They sent me a link to covers on Amazon that had bad reviews. They also said they might not work. Not Whirlpools problem. One of the burner valves seized up after about 3 months of use and the repair person said it would take 6 weeks to get the part. Still waiting. All of the burner knobs have split and we™€™re now using needle nose pliers to turn the burners on. Good thing the dogs can™€™t use needle nose pliers. i do like the grates that are hinged for easier cleaning

I bought the stove 2 months ago and it™€™s been wonderful. I replaced an older non-working electric stove. No complaints. The grates are heavy but the hinge helps quite a bit. And the self clean is great and works at a lower temp than others. Installation was a breeze. Getting ready to replace the above range microwave with a high CFM range hood.

We've had our range for 2 years and had four knobs break. In the most recent break, the ordered knob (through Whirlpool's official catalog) is backordered for 5 months! Love the hinged grates. It always looks perfect and it keeps my children from dragging the grates across the stove top and damaging anything. The only negative, in my opinion, is that when you use the baking timer, it automatically shuts the oven off when the timer goes off. I don't care for that when I may want just a few more minutes.
